If you've always wanted to purchase a robot vacuum, now is the time. CNET's top-rated models are on sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday with savings of up to 57%.
robot cleaner robotvacuummops is a powerful robot that is equipped with smart mapping and app-based no-go zones. Its running time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also self-empties and refills its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.
The Roomba j7+, iRobot’s most advanced robot to date is the Roomba J7+. Its biggest advancement is an obstacle detection system that uses built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes, and the dreaded pet waste most other robots can't avoid (and often go through). It's also the first robot to automatically send you a photo of the object it comes across so that you can tell it to avoid it in the future.
The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop that we have ever tested. It cleans up dirt and spills effortlessly leaving no trace it was there. The iRobot app makes it easy to control. You can schedule cleanings, and also create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't vacuum in areas that you don't would like. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it using voice.
The design is also superior to the competition. It features a sleek, high-end piece that resembles toys rather than a loud and obnoxious robot. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt Disposal System is also self-emptying which can cut down on cleaning time.
In our tests, we discovered that the j7+ swiftly took away dirt, dust, and pet hair. The rubber brushes that counter-rotate kept the debris in place rather than scattering it around the floor. It was able to collect small pieces of gravel, sand, and even a little grit. Most robots can't do this. It did all of this without getting caught in our pet's hair shed.
The j7+, though not as sophisticated as the $1,217 Roomba S9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and it can't clean the stairs, is still an excellent choice for those who want both mopping and vacuum. It's not too expensive, and the iRobot app makes it very user-friendly.
While the iRobot Home app is very easy to use, we've found it to be less reliable than other apps that utilize robotic cleaners. It can take some time to download updates, and it is sometimes difficult to determine if they are working until you actually see them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
When you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, the best choice is probably one that is a hybrid. These bots are equipped with a water tank so they can vacuum and mop simultaneously. These bots also have various additional features such as smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the capability to wash and dry mopping pads. They are expensive at full retail but often are reduced on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock has some of our top robot vacuums, and the Q5+ isn't an exception. It's the cheapest model in their auto-empty line. Although it doesn't include some of the premium features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories) but it's an excellent option if you are willing to make a few compromises to save a few dollars.
The Q5+ is noticeably gentle around obstacles like table legs and walls and walls, which makes it a good option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in cleaning dust bunnies, which is an area which many robot vacuums fail. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is superb too, with very little missed corners and along walls.
The Q5+, as with other Roborock products, can be controlled by a few buttons on the device or via the Roborock App. With the app you can start and stop cleanings or schedules, establish virtual barriers and no-go zones, and alter your home map, or change the labeling of rooms.
If you opt for the Q5+ it comes with a new auto-emptying dock that's designed to make the robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once in place the process of emptying the bin is relatively simple. It also features an impressive LCD display which is great to have when setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This isn't a necessary feature for the majority of people but it will help you keep track of the maintenance intervals for your robot with ease.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's incredibly clever in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design and functionality are among the best on the market - but it's also pricey.
It's a small base station that looks great and can be hidden when not in use. The primary selling point of the station is that it can automate many tasks, functions and chores that other robots leave to you. It can store dirty and clean water and also electrolyze and warm the water. Many other robots require you to perform this.
Its vacuuming is also impressive. It's the few robovacs I've tried that does a really good job of picking up debris on unfinished floors, and it's not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.
The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially when it comes navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable and reliable as other robot vacuums. This means it could get stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms in the house. It's also not able to climb stairs like other models and isn't equipped with a docking station to create a cleaning zone for plush carpets.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who need a robot vacuum that does everything.
If you're looking to save money or aren't averse to the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options available. A lot of eufy models are considerably less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for example is less expensive and offers a similar in-app experience with more features, including the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and superior overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.
4. eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy, a Anker company is a long-standing leader of making robot vacuums that strike a good balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different it offers a high-quality cleaning of hard floors and mopping functions as well as carpets at an affordable price point. It's easy to set up, simply connect one of the side brushes, turn it on and plug in your charging dock. The app guides you through several steps to connect to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. The dock must be located close to an outlet that has enough space to move.
The G30 is a small device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, which means it is able to be tucked away under couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design is more subtle in comparison to other models. It has a sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs a spot in a spiral pattern for two minutes) Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. You can also link the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to conduct cleaning without a schedule using voice commands.
The primary characteristic that makes the G30 apart from most competitors is the way it cleans. It uses a built-in map to create an image of the immovable objects in its path while retaining what it's cleaned and what it isn't able to access. When it needs to recharge, it will automatically return to its base, and then resumes cleaning where it left off.
The sleek G30 isn't without faults, though. The iRobot Roomba 675 is much better constructed, has lower recurring costs, charges faster and has a similar battery life. It also offers better performance on bare floors and low-pile carpet. It comes with a larger dust bin that does not require more emptying. It also has boundary strips that keep it from certain areas. The G30 is more affordable and simpler to maintain. Its smaller dust canister does not require emptying as often and is less prone to suffocating bulky materials such as cereal.
